A.L.F.R.E.D. was an AI created by Bruce Wayne to act for Terry McGinnis in a fashion similar to how Alfred Pennyworth acted to him. A.L.F.R.E.D.'s main purpose was to help Terry carry out Futures End. ALFRED could focus in on an area and isolate & amplify their frequency to discover what they were saying.
A.L.F.R.E.D assisted Tim Drake after he took over the role of Batman after Terry's death and the hands of the Batman/Joker Hybrid. After Tim was transported to the future by Brother Eye and captured by Inque Brother Eye downloaded himself into Tim's Batsuit and then allowed Tim to escaped back to Neo-Gotham. After Tim arrived Brother Eye activated itself into A.L.F.R.E.D and began corrupting its program and using it to as way to locate Neo-Gotham and began its invasion.
After the invasion began Brother Eye used the tracker he placed in A.L.F.R.E.D to track Tim and sent his forces after him. A.L.F.R.E.D was able to fight the corruption enough to tell Tim to rip out his hard drive and destroy him. Tim reluctantly told A.L.F.R.E.D to reveal the location of his hard drive in the suit which Tim promptly ripped out and destroyed.
After the Battle of Neo Gotham, Tim and Barbara began to repair A.L.F.R.E.D. A few weeks later during a battle between Terry who was being manipulated by Spellbinder to kill Terry, Matt who was observing the battle from the Batcave ran to the Batmobile. While attempting to get it power it up A.L.F.R.E.D which had been fully repaired activated and obeyed the orders of Matt to take him to the battle.
