Kyle Rayner was a human member of the Green Lantern Corps.
An artist for a newspaper daily strip, Kyler Rayner was eventually fired and blackballed out of the cartoonist industry. Going out drinking with his friends, Kyle tried to sneak out but was approached by Ganthet of the Guardians of the Universe who gave him a Green Ring of Willpower and inducted him into the Green Lantern Corps.
New Guardians Edit
One day while out patrolling in New York City, Rayner helped save a construction site crew from an unfortunate accident. Immediately after, he was approached by a Blue Ring of Hope, a Red Ring of Rage, a Yellow Ring of Fear, a Violet Ring of Love, an Orange Ring of Avaraice, an Indigo Ring of Compassion and informed he was chosen by all of them. Attacked by members of the Indigo Tribe, Sinestro Corps, Star Sapphire Corps and Red Lantern Corps, Rayner found him trying to fend off angry aliens who all wanted their power rings back. Trying to fend off Arkillo, Bleez, Fatality, Kyle was forced to retreat with Saint Walker. Arriving on Oa, Kyle discovered that Ganthet's emotions had been removed from him by the other Guardians. When the Guardians attempted to seize the other rings, they placed themselves on Rayner's hand and welcomed him to the various corps.
Harnessing the entire Emotional Spectrum, Kyle was only able to do so momentarily and all the rings soon disengaged from him. Stripped of his title as a Green Lantern by the Guardians, Kyle's green ring refused to disengage but he was neutrlaized by Salaak nonetheless. Given brief help by Glomulus, Rayner's previous pursuers attacked the Guardians on Oa and in the ensuing madness, Agent Orange invaded as well. Deciding to help Agent Orange fight off the Guardians, Rayner turned his back on Ganthet and Munk teleported them all to Okaara.
Kyle Rayner could create constructs with his rings of willpower.
